Weapons Engineer

Job Description

Selected applicant will support the Weapons Integration Integrated Product Team (IPT) in Arlington, VA. The primary responsibilities of the position are to provide systems engineering and technical assistance in support of US and Partner nation design requirements. The ideal candidate will have first-hand knowledge on weapon carriage and employment criteria, weapons effectiveness, weapons loads and determination of minimal weapons testing configurations and certification requirements. Applicant is required to: - Create and manage development, test, and production verification plans for each service - Assist the Government in managing major weapons system contractor performance, cost, schedule impacts, and specification compliance in support of the design, development, integration, and testing of weapons and stores certification requirements - Coordinate the planning and execution of the design reviews, program management reviews (PMR), working groups (WGs), technical interchange meetings (TIM), - Manage foreign disclosure, public release, component obsolescence, and security design and certification. - Create reports and assessments, evaluate program goals and objectives -Brief IPTs, contractors, leadership on performance, cost, and schedule

Requirements

Education/Experience: A Bachelors degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of experience are required. A Masters Degree in Engineering is desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Proficiency with MS Office applications and outstanding communication skills (oral and written) are required. - Ability to evaluate and communicate approaches to weapons integration in terms of risks, cost, schedule and specification compliance desired. - Demonstrated knowledge of fighter aircraft weapons practices desired. - Demonstrated knowledge of fighter aircraft weapons practices and policies desired. - Good communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills desired. - Demonstrated knowledge of the Security Assistance/Security Cooperation (SA/SC) programs desired. - DoD Acquisition program support and or military background desired. - Good briefing skills and interpersonal and/or diplomatic skills desired.
