Quality Control Manager

Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of U.S. Government contract documents in construction activities to achieve quality and safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepare and execute the Quality Control Program on site • Inspect and perform testing coordination and control • Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives • Manage and review the submittal register • Check material, design, shop and as-built drawings • May be required to manage a team of Quality Control Engineers • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Operations Manager KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Must have an active U.S. security clearance or be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Quality Control • Minimum of 10 years of experience implementing construction quality control programs for similar projects • Must be willing to work overseas • Must be proficient in project management tools and software, such as, RMS, ProjNet, etc PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: • International construction industry experience interacting with various diverse cultures • Professional Engineer Certification • Previous experience in US Government funded projects a plus (DOS, OBO, USAID or USACE preferred) • Active Security Clearance PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS: Reaching above and below, stooping and bending. Lifting/carrying/moving 1 to 15 pounds of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills. Requires a high degree of concentration in a busy office environment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Contract requires 6 days per week, 10 hours per day. Schedules may be modified to better accommodate business needs. Flexibility with hours is required.
